Colour My World / Brighton Pride 2018

Brighton Pride in collaboration with urbanflo creative and Socially Engaged Art Salon (SEAS) proudly present one of the biggest and most diverse exhibitions featuring LGBTQ+ narratives as part of the new engagement initiative Pride Cultural Development Programme. Located in 2 city centre venues, the stunning ‘Colour My World’ exhibition opens at the Jubilee Library and the BMECP Centre on 23rd July. The project runs for 2 weeks and includes creative contributions from over 50 artists, filmmakers and activists from the UK, Europe, Middle East, Africa, Asia and the Americas. Through these diverse cultural lenses, the exhibition reveals a range of personal and sometimes raw, intimate and challenging explorations of social and political struggles that some LGBTQ+ communities are still facing; including experiences of isolation and difference, persecution and resistance, family and community.

Alongside the exhibition, the ‘Pride in Our Community Open Day on 28th July at the BMECP Centre from 2pm – 8pm will include an exhibition over 2 floors, film screenings, creative workshops, a pop up kitchen, performers, artist talks and presentations.
